From the first whistle: 2degrees signs on as foundation partner of Auckland FC’s new women’s team

2degrees has today officially signed on as the foundation sponsor of Auckland FC’s women’s team.

This announcement comes ahead of the Auckland FC women’s team’s highly anticipated debut in the A-League Women’s in 2027.

“Although the women’s team won’t take the field until the 2027 season, it was a no-brainer for us to get on board now,” says Anna Gorman, Senior Sponsorship & Community Manager at 2degrees.

“Backing Auckland FC’s women’s team is a natural extension of our commitment to advancing equity in women’s sport in Aotearoa, and we’re excited to be part of the journey from the very beginning.”

The move further strengthens 2degrees’ SupportHER initiative, which unites all of the company’s women-in-sport programmes under one banner. SupportHER provides practical resources for parents, coaches, and supporters, while championing wāhine at every level of sport.

“We believe that making this commitment now is essential to helping women’s sport build on its momentum and thrive in the years ahead,” adds Gorman. “Through AFC and SupportHER, we’re proud to help lift the profile of women’s sport in this country.”

Alongside this new commitment, 2degrees has also confirmed it will continue as Auckland FC’s official telecommunications partner for the upcoming 2025/26 A-League Men’s season.

After proudly supporting AFC through their inaugural, Premiership-winning campaign last year, 2degrees has signed on for a second season as the club prepares to defend its title, kicking off on Friday 17 October 2025.

2degrees CEO Mark Callander says, “Last season was an incredible start for Auckland FC, and we’re proud to have been part of their journey from day one. Like AFC, 2degrees was built with a challenger spirit, and we’re excited to be back supporting the fans, players, and community who make this club so special.”

Nick Becker, Auckland FC CEO, echoes Callander’s sentiment of shared values.

“2degrees has been a fantastic partner in our inaugural season, helping us stay connected with our growing fanbase and community.”

“They’re a bold New Zealand brand with a focus on doing right by Kiwis, and a shared passion for challenging the status quo. We’re delighted to continue the partnership as we head into our second season.”
