Business Watch plan FAQs
Nothing - a Business Watch plan allows you to connect a SIM-enabled phone, tablet, laptop, or smart watch to your mobile plan at no extra cost.
If you’re a new or existing customer, you can get a Business Watch plan if you have an eligible Business mobile plan with 2degrees.
Our Business Watch plans are available for Apple and Samsung wearables.
Make sure your iPhone is updated and you are on a Business Choice mobile plan with 2degrees.
- Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, scroll down to Mobile and tap Add a new plan
- Tap Set Up Mobile and enter your My 2d account username (email address) and password, then tap Login
- Select Watch plan and tap Continue
- Read the terms and conditions, tick the box to agree, then tap Accept
- If successful, a confirmation screen will appear and your Watch Sidekick will be activated. Tap Done
Note: Your Business Watch plan will not appear on your bill. However, if a watch is purchased on interest free instalments, a temporary number may appear in the interest free section for billing purposes only.
To activate on your Samsung Galaxy watch make sure you have the latest software on your Samsung Galaxy phone and you are on an eligible Business Choice mobile plan.
- Open the Galaxy Wearables app on your phone, tap Watch Settings, then tap Mobile plans
- Once you’re on the set up a mobile plan screen, tap Next
- Enter your My 2d account username (email address) and password, then tap Login
- Select Watch plan and tap Continue
- Read the terms and conditions, tick the box to agree, then tap Accept
- Tap Sign-up to activate the Watch Sidekick plan
- If successful, a confirmation screen will appear when your Galaxy Watch is connected. Tap Done
- To link to your mobile plan, you will be asked if you want to use your Watch Sidekick plan. Tap Use plan
- Once set up is complete tap Done

Your watch can work without your phone close by.
- Calls can be made and received.
- Texts can be sent and received if your phone is on.
- Data is shared between your phone and your watch.
At this stage our Business Watch plan is currently only available for the following watches:
Apple
- Apple Watch Series 6 or newer updated with the latest watchOS.
Samsung
- Samsung Watch7 40mm LTE
- Samsung Watch7 44mm LTE
- Samsung Watch Ultra
At this stage our Watch Sidekick plans are currently only available for the following phones:
Apple
- iPhone 11 or newer updated with the latest iOS.
Samsung
- Samsung Watch7 40mm LTE
- Samsung Watch7 44mm LTE
- Samsung Watch Ultra
When making a call or sending a text from your watch, the receiver will see your primary mobile number, just like they see when you call or text them from your phone.
Your Business Watch plan uses the same amount of voice minutes, texts and data on your existing Business Choice mobile plan. For example, if your Business primary mobile plan gives you 15GB of carryover data, then your watch will use calls, text and data from this allocation.
Your Business Watch plan can’t be used overseas at this stage. However, you are able to use your smart watch when travelling overseas. After enabling WiFi Calling on your phone (you only need to do this once), you need to connect to a WiFi network before your phone or smart watch automatically uses WiFi Calling.
When you’re travelling internationally and want to make a phone call on your mobile or smart watch, just remember to add the International Calling Code before the number - even if you're calling someone in that same country.
If you want to call 022 123 456, simply drop the ‘0’ and replace it with the country code which starts with ‘+’.
You can purchase a new watch Interest Free over 12, 24 or 36 months on an eligible Business Choice plan, no upfront payment needed.

Only one smart watch can be connected to your Business Choice plan at a time. If you want to connect a different smart watch to your primary plan, you will need to disconnect your current smart watch, and then connect the new smart watch device to your Business Choice plan instead.
You can’t remove your mobile data from your Business Watch plan, without cancelling your Business Watch plan and removing data or cancelling your Business Choice plan as well.
If you're thinking of cancelling your Business Watch plan, give us a call on 200 from your 2degrees mobile, 0800 022 022 from any New Zealand phone, or +64 22 200 2000 from overseas. Or you can deactivate your Business Watch plan from your wearable app on your device.
If you cancel your Business Watch plan part way through a month, you’ll only be charged up to the date of cancellation. If you have taken up an Interest Free Mobile Repayment Option then you will be required to pay the remaining balance due.
Note: once cancelled, your device will no longer be able to access the 2degrees mobile network – but you’ll still be able to use Bluetooth and WiFi.
