Access type

Wireless Broadband 

Our wireless broadband services connect your home via a 4G wireless connection to our 4G mobile network. Broadband speeds may vary due to factors controlled by you such as your premises’ connection, the location and positioning of your modem, internal wiring and WiFi set up, interference from electrical devices and the number of users in your home. The day to day performance will also be affected by our network. 

Wired Broadband 

We will offer you the best connection type (ADSL < VDSL < UFB (Fibre) up to 100/20Mbps or up to 900/400Mbps on the $106 Plan) available at your address.

Other Information 

Wireless Broadband 30-day money back guarantee 

We will provide you with a 30 day money back guarantee if you are unable to use the services due to coverage. If the wireless service is not available at your installation address you may call us on 0800 022 202 and we will refund you. A refund will be made in the same tender as the original purchase. If you cancel you will need to return the modem to us as new or you will have to pay a $299 modem fee. We will provide instructions on returning the modem when you cancel. 

Rural Wireless Broadband 60-day trial 

We will provide you with 2 month free trial. If after 2 months you don’t wish to continue you may call us on 0800 022 202 to cancel. If you cancel you will need to return the modem to us as new or you will have to pay a $299 modem fee. We will provide instructions on returning the modem when you cancel. 

Minimum Contract Period 

You can choose from either: 

  • Open term; or 
  • 12 month term

Early Termination Charge 

If you are on a fixed term Plan you will need to pay an early termination charge up to $199 if you end your contract early. 

There is no early termination charge if you sign-up on an open term. 

If you sign up to a 12 month Broadband Plan with a joining credit the following early termination charges may apply: 

  • An early exit fee up to $199 applies to the term; and 
  • Also, if you leave or downgrade your plan within the first 12 months, you'll need to repay the joining credit on a prorated basis.    

Notice period (termination) 

You can end your plan at any time before your next monthly billing due date. You will still be responsible for any charges incurred prior to that billing date. 

Traffic Management 

Wired broadband  

No traffic management policies apply on any of our broadband plans, including Unlimited Data. 

Wireless broadband 

In some circumstances we may be required to take reasonable action to protect our customers and effectively manage our network. If your usage on this Plan exceeds 400GB for 3 consecutive months, or if your usage exceeds 450GB in any month, we will contact you to discuss alternative options. If you are not satisfied with any of those options you may terminate your service within 30 days of our notice to you, or within 30 days of the date of migration (whichever is later) and we will not charge you an early termination charge in respect of your contract. 

Fair Use 

No fair use policies apply to our broadband plans.

Effects on other services 

Your broadband service requires mains power to operate. If power is not available (e.g. during a local power outage) the broadband, and any services which run over it (such as the Home Phone Plus service, alarms including medical alarms), may stop working unless you have battery backup in your home. 

Other charges(excluding Wireless)  

We offer a range of Add-On Services, including Home Phone Services: 

  • Home Phone Plus service - $15/month. This is delivered over your broadband connection and includes voicemail, caller ID, call waiting, and unlimited* calls to NZ & Australian landlines). This service is not available to some ADSL users. 
  • Home Phone Basic service (only available over ADSL & VDSL connections) - $15/month. Includes local calling and you can add our optional calling features: 
  • Unlimited* NZ and Australia Landline Calling - $15/month 
  • Caller ID $4/month 
  • Voicemail $8/month 
  • Wiring maintenance $3.95/month (only available on ADSL & VDSL services). 

Additional charges may apply to non-standard installations and to additional in-home technician work performed at time of connection. For example, a broadband wiring charge of $199 may apply to if you have a monitored alarm or more than five phone jack-points in your home. For more information visit 2degrees Broadband Support 

Leased modem charges

If you have a leased a modem you must return that modem to us when you terminate your plan and leave us. If you terminate and leave before the end of the term and do not return the modem to us you will be charged.
