Data Piñata Promotion Terms and Conditions
- These terms and conditions apply (in addition to the 2degrees Prepay Terms and Conditions, Pay Monthly Terms and Conditions, Fair Use Policy and Data Clock Terms and Conditions and any other applicable terms and conditions) to Two Degrees Mobile Limited’s (2degrees) Data Piñata promotion (Data Piñata).
- This promotion commences at 12:00am on 3rd November 2025 and ends at 11:59pm on 18 January 2026 (Data Piñata Period).
- Data Piñata is free to play but you will need an active 2degrees consumer Pay Monthly Plan or Prepay Plan (Eligible Plan(s)) at the time you win a Data Prize (defined below) or Non-Data Prize (defined below) to claim that prize (unless you are an existing 2degrees consumer customer with other services or you are currently with another service provider and you redeem your Data Prize in accordance with paragraphs 11 and 12).
- If during the Data Piñata Period you:
- have signed up to an Eligible Plan;
- follow those steps set out in paragraph 5 below;
- you will be eligible to win:
- subject to clause 8, your share of max speed data (Data) (redeemable in the Data Clock) (Data Prize); or
- one of a limited number of non-Data prizes for some lucky players (Non-Data Prize); and
- a bonus Data Prize of 3-days of Data if you collect all the Data Piñata collectables in the Data Piñata Battle Collection (Bonus Data Prize).
- To play Data Piñata you will need to:
- go to datapinata.nz;
- enter and confirm your mobile number;
- accept the Data Piñata terms and conditions;
- enter the 6 digit authentication code sent to you by 2degrees;
- allow applicable permissions on your device so you can play the Data Piñata; and
- collect loot, customise and battle with your Data Piñata to win a Data Prize or a Non-Data Prize – 2easy!
- Unlimited Pay Monthly and Prepay Plans are not eligible for Data Prizes.
- Once you have successfully battled a Data Piñata you will need to go to the 2degrees Data Clock app to redeem your Data Prize. If you do not already have the Data Clock app, you will need to download it. You will need to make sure you have the latest version of the Data Clock app in order to redeem your Data Prize. In most cases, the Data Prize will be showing in the Data Clock app as soon as it is won, but in some cases may take up to 36 hours from winning your Data Prize.
- You have 24 hours from either winning your Data Prize or your Data Prize showing in the Data Clock app (whichever is sooner) to begin using your Data Prize. Your Data Prize immediately expires after this 24 hour period and you will not be able to use it.
- The amount of Data awarded for each Data Prize is determined by the outcome of the Data Piñata battle. If you lose a Data Piñata battle, your Data Prize will be 30 minutes’ worth of Data. If you win a Data Piñata battle, your Data Prize will be a random selection of more than 30 minutes of Data.
- If you win a Bonus Data Prize you have 7 days to begin using the Bonus Data Prize. Your Bonus Data Prize immediately expires after this 7-day period and you will not be able to use it.
- The full experience of Data Piñata will only be available on selected devices which have sufficient processing speeds. For devices which are not sufficient, you will not compete in a Data Piñata battle and instead, you will automatically be awarded a Data Prize or Non – Data Prize which will be drawn on a random basis. For devices which are sufficient, you will still need to allow applicable permissions in order to have the full experience.
- If you are an existing 2degrees consumer customer but do not have an Eligible Plan at time of play, you will still be eligible for Data Prizes subject to you signing up to an Eligible Plan within the 24 hour period you have to consume your Data Prize.
- If you are not a 2degrees consumer customer, you can still play Data Piñata, but you will not be eligible for a Non-Data Prize or Bonus Data Prize. If you want to redeem a Data Prize, you will need to port your mobile number (the one you used to play Data Piñata with) to 2degrees and sign up to an Eligible Plan prior to 28 February 2026. In the interim, any Data Prizes you win will be stored in your Data Vault until 28 February 2026 and the 24 hour redemption period will not apply. Once you successfully bring your number to 2degrees, any Data Prizes in your Data Vault will be available for use within the next 90 days after you join.
- You may play as many times per day as you like but you can only win a maximum of one Data Prize or Non – Data Prize per day. Notwithstanding this, you acknowledge that you can only win one Non-Data Prize and Bonus Data Prize during the Data Piñata Period.
- While you can play as many times as you want to per day, only the result of your first Data Piñata battle will determine eligibility for a Data Prize or Non – Data Prize.
- To claim your Non-Data Prize, go to:
- www.thewarehouse.co.nz and redeem your voucher code in the promo code box in the cart (if we specify you have won a Warehouse Non – Data Prize);
- https://shop.nzbreakers.basketball/ and redeem your voucher in the discount code box during checkout (if we specify you have won a Breaker’s jersey Non – Data Prize); or
- for all other Non – Data Prizes, 2dredeem.co.nz/datapinata; and
enter the redemption code that was sent to your mobile. You must redeem your Non-Data Prize by 31 January 2026 or it will be forfeited. Your Non-Data Prize may take up to 21 days to be shipped to the address provided – no PO Boxes.
- If you receive a Samsung voucher post – redemption in accordance with paragraph 15, this must be redeemed in a 2degrees store and cannot be redeemed via the 2degrees online shop.
- Each Prize:
- in the case of a Data Prize,
- is a one-off continuous data session;
- can only be used in New Zealand;
- is not transferrable or exchangeable; and
- cannot be taken as cash or any other form of value.
- in the case of a Data Prize,
- 2degrees’ Fair Use Policy applies to Data and each Data Prize. If you win a Data Prize, the Data will consist of max speed data. Max speeds will reduce to 1mbps after 40GB/m, per person. At reduced speeds, your experience will be impacted.
- 2degrees reserves the right to cancel or amend Data Piñata at any time.
- 2degrees Business customers are excluded from Data Piñata.
- Our Privacy Policy applies to any personal information collected for the purposes of Data Piñata. This means you agree to 2degrees contacting you about 2degrees services and products which may be of interest to you. You can opt – out of these messages by following the unsubscribe process in these communications at any time.
