Data Piñataverse Promotion Terms and Conditions
- These terms and conditions apply (in addition to the 2degrees Prepay Terms and Conditions, Pay Monthly Terms and Conditions, and Data Clock Terms and Conditions and any other applicable terms and conditions) to Two Degrees Mobile Limited’s (2degrees) Data Piñata promotion (Data Piñata).
- This promotion commences at 12:00am on 2nd November 2026 and ends at 11:59pm on 17 January 2027 (Data Piñata Period).
- Data Piñata is free to play. To claim a Data Prize and Non-Data Prize (each defined below), you must, at the time of redeeming it, have an active 2degrees consumer Pay Monthly Plan or Prepay Plan with the mobile number you used to play Data Piñata (Eligible Plan(s)).
- If you play:
- with an Eligible Plan you have 24 hours from either winning your Data Prize or the Data Prize showing in the Data Clock app (whichever is sooner) to begin using your Data Prize. Your Data Prize immediately expires after this 24 hour period and you will not be able to use it. Non- Data Prizes must be redeemed 28 February 2027;
- without an Eligible Plan and are a 2degrees consumer mobile customer you can redeem the following prizes you have won by:
- signing up to an Eligible Plan within 24 hours of your win for Data Prizes; or
- by 28 February 2027 for a Non-Data Prize (subject to paragraph 11 -Auckland FC Passes); or
- without an Eligible Plan and are not a 2degrees consumer mobile customer, you can redeem the following prizes you have won by:
- for Data Prizes by bringing the number you played with to 2degrees and signing up to an Eligible Plan by 28 February 2027. Your Data Prizes are stored in a Data Vault. After you join, that Data is available to use for 90 days before it expires; and
- for Non-Data Prizes by bringing the number you played with to 2degrees and signing up to as a 2degrees consumer mobile customer by 28 February 2027 (subject to paragraph 11 - Auckland FC Passes).
- 2degrees Business customers may play but cannot redeem Prizes.
- During the Data Piñata Period:
- you can win the Prizes listed below by following the steps set out in paragraph 5, whether or not you have an Eligible Connection;
- to redeem a Data Prize, you must have an Eligible Plan (excluding unlimited plans) nd meet the applicable redemption requirements and deadlines set out in these terms and conditions;
- to redeem a Non-Data Prize, you must be a 2degrees consumer mobile customer and have the mobile number you played Data Piñata on and meet the applicable redemption requirements and deadlines set out in these terms and conditions;
- the Prizes available, subject to the applicable exclusions and conditions set out in these terms and conditions, are:
- subject to clause 8, your share of max speed data (Data) (redeemable in the Data Clock) (Data Prize); or
- a maximum of one of a limited number of Non-Data Prizes in accordance with the rules and conditions set out in the Data Piñata game (Non-Data Prize); and
- Bonus Data Prizes of:
- 3 consecutive days of Data (ie a 72 hour Data pack) (3-day Bonus Data Prize) if you are one of the first 2,500 players to collect all 225 Data Piñata collectables in the Data Piñata Swag Collection;
- 20 minutes each time you play Data Piñata for 5 consecutive days ie a 5-day playing streak);
- 4 hours if you unlock the Besties portal by referring at least 3 new players (using their mobile numbers) to play Data Pinata and all three successfully register to play Data Pinata; and
- 2 hours for each player you refer who is not a 2degrees customer and successfully registers to play Data Pinata;
- if you win a 3-day Bonus Data Prize, you have 7 days from your win to start the 3-day data session. The 3-day Bonus Data Prize immediately expires after that 7-day period. For all other Bonus Data Prizes, you have 24 hours to use your Bonus Data Prize.
- To play Data Piñata you need to:
- be in New Zealand;
- go to datapinata.nz;
- enter and confirm your mobile number;
- accept the Data Piñata terms and conditions;
- enter the 6 digit authentication code sent to you by 2degrees;
- allow applicable permissions on your device so you can play Data Piñata; and
- collect swag, customise and whack your Data Piñata to win a Data Prize or a Non-Data Prize
- Unlimited Pay Monthly and Prepay Plans are not eligible for Data Prizes.
- If you successfully whack a Data Piñata, you must redeem your Data Prize through the latest version of the 2degrees Data Clock app. If you do not already have the app, you will need to download it. In most cases, your Data Prize will appear in the app as soon as it is won, but in some cases it may take up to 36 hours from winning your Data Prize.
- The amount of Data awarded for each Data Prize is determined randomly when you whack the Pinata. Your Data Prize will be a random selection starting from 30 minutes of Data.
- The full Data Piñata experience is available only on selected devices with sufficient processing speeds, and you must allow the applicable permissions to access it. If your device does not have sufficient processing speeds, you will not whack the piñata. Instead, you will automatically be awarded a randomly drawn Data Prize, Bonus Data Prize or Non-Data Prize.
- If you win an Auckland FC Double Pass the passes are only valid for the applicable dates below. If a winner is not a 2degrees consumer mobile customer they will need to successfully bring their number they played on to 2degrees and sign up as a 2degrees consumer mobile customer before redeeming the double pass.

- You can play the daily portal or any special portal made available from time to time in the Data Piñata game. You can only unlock each special portal once during the Data Piñata Period.

- for Auckland FC replica jerseys, visit https://shop.aucklandfc.co.nz and add the jersey to your cart. The redemption code is valid only for Home and Away Adult and Youth Replica Jerseys. Enter it at checkout and use the second code for free shipping;
- for Auckland FC double passes, if you are not a 2degrees consumer mobile customer, you must successfully bring your number to 2degrees and sign up as a 2degrees consumer mobile customer to redeem your Double Pass. Visit https://aucklandfc.spinzo.com/?group=2-degrees-data-pinata-b32j, pick the game you wish to watch and use the code to get Double Passes. The last applicable Auckland FC game is on 31 January 2027.
- for TANK drink vouchers head to the nearest TANK Store and redeem or use it online at https://www.tankjuice.co.nz/’ $25 TANK voucher to be redeemed in a single transaction.
- for all other Non-Data Prizes, 2dredeem.co.nz/datapinata; and
Enter the redemption code sent to your mobile. You must be in New Zealand to redeem Non-Data Prizes and must redeem your Non-Data Prize by 28 February 2027 or it will be forfeited. Your Non-Data Prize may take up to 21 days to be shipped to the address provided. No PO Boxes.
- Each Prize:
- in the case of a Data Prize,
- is a one-off continuous data session;
- can only be used in New Zealand;
- is not transferrable or exchangeable; and
- cannot be taken as cash or any other form of value.
- in the case of a Data Prize,
- 2degrees’ Fair Use Policy applies to Data and each Data Prize. If you win a Data Prize, the Data will consist of max speed data. Max speeds will reduce to 1mbps after 100GB/m, per person.
- 2degrees reserves the right to cancel or amend Data Piñata at any time.
- Our Privacy Policy applies to any personal information collected for the purposes of Data Piñata. This means you agree to 2degrees contacting you about 2degrees services and products which may be of interest to you. You can opt – out of these messages by following the unsubscribe process in these communications at any time.
