Understanding your Broadband bill

Understanding your first and second Broadband bill

At sign-up you’ll be charged $15 for shipping of your modem (if you’re choosing to rent a modem from us). If you've chosen an open-term plan, you’ll also be charged for your modem and standard connection fee.

As 2degrees Broadband is charged and billed in advance, once your broadband connection has been activated, you’ll receive your bill and be charged immediately for the first month of your plan. We’ll email it to you, but you can also find it in the Your 2degrees dashboard.

Your first bill will be due the same day it is issued, and your first month’s charge will be deducted from your debit/credit card the same day.

You'll note that your bill will be due on this day every month. We call this your billing anniversary.

Your billing anniversary serves as the start of each billing period, and as the invoice due date.

Shortly after this (around one week), you’ll receive your bill for your second month's plan charges, but don't worry, you have three weeks before this is due.

Your second bill will include your normal plan fee, and any pro-rated charges from your connection date to the end of the previous month.

Each month your nominated credit card or bank account will be debited with the amount outstanding on your account on the due date detailed on your bill.

What are my payment options for Broadband?

There are a number of ways you can pay your bill. You can set up an automatic payment with either a credit card, debit card or Direct Debit Authority when you sign up. This payment method will be charged each month, on your billing due date.

You can also log into Your 2degrees and choose to make a manual payment with a valid credit or debit card. There is a 1.75% card payment fee that applies to credit card and debit card transactions.

You can also make a manual payment via internet banking; your bill will explain what is required to do this.

Broadband Price Increase – October 2020

In September 2020 we notified customers on our Unlimited and 80GB plans that the price of their broadband plan would increase by $4 a month from October.

We last put our prices up four years before that, and in that time, the costs from our suppliers have gone up. This, unfortunately, means we need to increase our prices so that we can continue to keep you connected to the stuff you love.

The price from 1 October 2020 is $79 ($69 with a Pay Monthly plan) for the 80GB Broadband plan; and $89 ($79 with a Pay Monthly plan) for the Unlimited Broadband plan (excluding Ultimate Fibre).

If you’re on an old retired plan, the prices haven’t changed, but you might want to have a look at our new plans as you could be better off.

If we’ve set up the automatic payment for you via either Direct Debit or Credit Card payment, then there’s nothing you need to do. We’ll automatically deduct the correct amount.

If you’ve set up an automatic payment yourself with your bank, you’ll need to make sure you update the payment amount to include an extra $4. We can’t do this on your behalf if you’ve set it up separately.
