Pick the broadband plan that works for you
What is 4G Wireless Broadband?
4G Wireless Broadband is delivered over our 4G mobile network. Unlike old-fashioned copper cables or fibre cables in the ground, 4G Wireless Broadband is beamed straight to your modem via our robust 4G network. The same network we use to connect our mobile phones.
Is 4G Wireless Broadband simpler to set up?
Absolutely. Unlike a fibre connection, you no longer have to wait for an installation. Once you get your 4G Wireless modem, just plug it in, switch it on and connect your devices.
Why is there a data limit?
Since 4G Wireless broadband runs on our 4G network, we need to ensure the network can support as many users as often as possible. If you need more than 300GB of data each month, we recommend upgrading to our Unlimited 4G Wireless plan.
Will the available data be enough for my needs?
It depends. If you need to connect a few devices to the internet for basic browsing, checking email, and the occasional video streaming or video calls, our 300GB plan should get you through the month. You can also upgrade to our Unlimited plan for a bit more data to go around. But if you need the internet to handle multiple devices simultaneously running high-intensity stuff (4K video and gaming, loads of hi-def livestreaming etc.), you should go with one of our fibre plans.
Can I get a landline with 4G Wireless broadband?
Currently, we don’t offer a landline with any of our 4G Wireless broadband plans. If you need a landline, we recommend exploring our fibre plans.
What is 5G Wireless broadband?
5G Wireless broadband is delivered over our 5G mobile network. Unlike old-fashioned copper cables or fibre cables in the ground, 5G Wireless broadband is beamed straight to your modem via the nearest 5G cell tower just like your mobile phone. 5G is only available in selected parts of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch for now.
Is 5G Wireless broadband simpler to set up?
Absolutely. Unlike a fibre connection, you no longer have to wait for an installation. Once you get your 5G Wireless modem, just plug it in, switch it on and connect your devices.
Is there a data limit?
Our Wireless 5G Broadband plan offers unlimited data. However, since Wireless 5G Broadband runs on our 5G network, Fair Use Policy applies.
What does unlimited mean?
Unlimited broadband does what it says on the tin. With this plan you never have to worry about running out of data during the month. Even if you have multiple devices simultaneously running high-intensity stuff (4K video and gaming, loads of hi-def livestreaming etc.). Fair Use Policy applies.
Can I get a landline with 5G Wireless broadband?
Currently, we don’t offer a landline with any of our 5G Wireless broadband plans. If you need a landline, we recommend exploring our fibre plans.
What is Fibre Starter Unlimited Broadband?
Beamed over fibreoptic cables, this connection offers a fast and stable internet connection.
What does Fibre Starter mean?
Fibre Starter offers you the power of high-speed broadband at even lower prices than our other unlimited Fibre broadband plans. This plan also gives you the flexibility to pay your bills weekly or fortnightly.
What does unlimited mean?
Unlimited broadband does what it says on the tin. With this plan you never have to worry about running out of data during the month. Even if you have more than one device connected to the internet at the same time.
Will this plan be enough for my needs?
It depends. If you need to connect a few devices to the internet for basic browsing, checking email, and the occasional video streaming or video calls, our Fibre Starter Unlimited plan should get you through the month.
What is Unlimited Fibre Broadband?
Fibre is currently the fastest broadband available in NZ. Beamed over fibreoptic cables, this connection offers a fast and stable internet connection.

What is Ultimate Unlimited Fibre Broadband?
Fibre is currently the fastest broadband available in NZ. Beamed over fibreoptic cables, this connection offers a fast and stable internet connection. But with our Ultimate Unlimited Fibre, you get speeds that far exceed our Unlimited Fibre connection.
What is the difference between Unlimited and Ultimate Unlimited?
In a nutshell, speed. Think of Fibre as a fast car and Mpbs the max speed at which you can drive it.
*Broadband speeds can be impacted by your modem’s performance, the number of devices connected to your modem, server location, your device settings, and your WiFi setup.
What is Hyperfibre?
Hyperfibre is the fastest broadband available in NZ. Built to deliver gigabit speeds, this connection allows multiple users to immerse in ultra-smooth 4K video streaming, game with just 1ms latency, and upload large files faster with ease.
What’s the difference between Hyperfibre and Ultimate Unlimited Fibre Broadband.
In a word, speed. While our Ultimate Unlimited Fibre Broadband delivers 883/498Mbps peak time average speeds, Hyperfibre delivers speeds of up to 4Gbps. For reference, 1Gbps is a whopping 1000Mbps. You do the math.

- Fair Use Policy applies to Unlimited Wireless Broadband.
- Broadband speeds can be impacted by your modem’s performance, the number of devices connected to your modem, server location, your device settings, and your WiFi setup.
- Wireless broadband speeds can be impacted by the distance between your modem and a cell site, the level of usage of a particular cell site by others, and network capability.
- To help you pick the right plan for your needs, please use our handy address checker on the page above. If you’re looking for independent information* on the type of broadband connections available at your address, please refer to the Broadband Map NZ (* This information is not acquired, maintained, or verified by 2degrees Mobile Limited. - You can also check your personal broadband data usage through our app or online at Your 2degrees. Depending on your usage, you can then decide if you want to switch plans.
- If your plan includes a modem from us, it will be capable of delivering the speeds we advertise for the plan you’ve chosen. But we cannot make the same guarantees if you choose to bring your own modem.
- If you choose to add a landline to your broadband plan, you can bring your existing landline number with you. This applies even if you are switching from a copper line connection to a VoIP connection. Alternatively, you can also ask for a new landline number to be assigned to your 2degrees account.
- Wireless Broadband uses different technology than Fibre Broadband. For any 3rd party service that requires broadband such as medical alarms, security alarms or any service that requires a fixed landline, we recommend you check with your provider to ensure it is compatible with Wireless Broadband before signing up to this service.
