Ukraine Crediting back FAQs

To support Kiwis connecting with loved ones, we’re crediting back the cost of standard calls and texts to Ukraine and surrounding countries: Poland, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary, from 15 Feb to 31st May 2022. Crediting back, is a process which clears the cost of the text or call after it has been made. Below you’ll find more specific details about which countries this applies to and how your credit back will be work.

Are the calls and texts actually free?

The cost of the calls and texts will be credited back to your Prepay or Pay Monthly account. You will not have to pay for calls or texts made between 15th February and 31st May 2022.

How does ‘crediting back’ work?

If call or text charges appear on your Prepay or Pay Monthly account, our team will credit these to appear as $0.00. We’ll review and process these credits on a daily basis (Friday and weekend calls will be credited on the following Monday).

How long will calls be credited back?

The cost of the calls and texts made between 15th February and 31st May 2022 will be credited back to you.

Will the dates be extended if the situation continues?

We will continue to assess the situation and keep you updated. If you need support, call us on 200 from your 2degrees mobile or 0800 022 022 from within NZ.

What countries are considered ‘surrounding countries’?

We understand some people may have fled to neighbouring countries for their safety. To ensure you can stay connected, we are crediting back the costs of calls and texts to: Ukraine, Poland, Moldovia, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary.

Do I need to have credit on my Prepay account?

Yes. You need to have credit on your account to make the call or text. We will refund you the cost of the call or text.

When will I receive the credit back?

We will review and process call and text charges daily (Friday and weekend calls will be credited on the following Monday).

How will this appear on my account?

The credit backs are processed daily so by the time you receive your account or bill, the call or text will appear with a $0 charge.

Does this include calls made from my landline using Broadband?

Unfortunately not. This is only available for mobile calls and texts.
